Dear Reader,

We are living in most exciting times - now, at the beginning of the 21st century. How can we tell these incidents to our offsprings? We are all requested to become part of an urgent and global change of institutional, administrational and personal structures. Increasingly, we are becoming - globally - aware of the interconnectedness and of the responsibilities involved among all human people AND their (material/immaterial) environment at the same time... and it seems to be either a tilting at windmills, or -as conceivable when becoming aware of the loss of sufficient time- a fight against the eternal hour glass running out now. Keep your eyes and ears open, because truth gets a new twist these days!

Let's have a look at THE symbolically best performing narrative "story" of the beginning 21st cenutry: The success of Wikileaks and the crusade triggered off by its founder Julian Assange. Even though there are several commentators issuing views that wikileaks was or is actually a new strategy launched and controlled by the CIA in order to distract the public audience from all the scandals the US-administration and enterprises are involved in (by blackening other countries, regimes and persons, the public scope should switch to their problems), it seems nevertheless rather unlikely that an entire domination system in order to control truth and reality was - again globally- launched with the clear order to STOP ASSANGE, this modern hero of Enlightenment. It is therefore advisable to believe for a moment that wikileaks stems at least from an oppositional stance, facing the - what is expressed in his manifesto - consiprators out there.

Assange himself is believed to be an anarchistic hacker who is now running his own show as a kind of modern martyr. And journalists and the public audience worldwide is still debating the content of the cables wikileaks has published. But debating the actual content is maybe just missing the point in this case. Why? First, it seems striking that not a single newspaper or press agency has published a commentary so far about their tacit confession of having openly missed their vocation, since, for weeks now, they are issuing unfiltered news directly from their main source - wikileaks. Where have all the journalists been, we should ask, in the last years that should have discovered what is now known through intransparent cables? There are only two possible answers: They either didn't do their job in the way they are supposed to, OR they are indeed to a larger or smaller extent part OF the conspiracy. If they acted out of fear not to mess up with the US government, this would not change the accusation.

Second, wikileaks and the whole movement of transparency does NOT issue any new information, the "novelty value" is almost zero, since most of the information could already be found if the inclined reader has also followed alternative sources of information on the internet and in libraries. BUT: wikileaks confirms most of the vague assumptions or opinions about governments, diplomats and business corporations. Moreover, it strangely "proves" them, because it holds the own claim of disseminating the "truth"! By doing so, it creates new and different institutions and ways of producing "truth", which is generally to embrace. But again, it is not new. I should like to point out that between the 70s-90s the famous UNA-bomber Theodore Kaczynski made very similar claims and his - unfortunately hardly read but all the more inspiring manifesto - makes very familiar points when comparing it to Assange's work (http://cyber.eserver.org/unabom.txt). There is, by the way, a wonderful and also widely disregarded documentary about Kaczynski, etc. and his relation to the network of "truth"-creation (The NET/DAS NETZ by Lutz Dammbeck, 2004).

By counting 1 and 1 together, it becomes more and more clear that this strange, unarticulated feeling so many people had for decades now, concerning a certain positivist belief in the given architecture of our world (rights, political correctness, integrity, freedom, "truth"-producing institutions) was actually right. YES, we are lied at;  YES, every "right to freedom/speech/development/living/health/work...etc" actually entails only THE "right freedom/speech/development/living/health/work. For the elites (but not only them!), there is only one, preconfigured, narrowed way of carrying out your rights.

Furthermore, you can indeed cross out the "to" in the "right to.."-formula, but do never leave the designated path! This is eventually what Julian Assange did. He left the well-ordered path in order to take it on with the most powerful in the world. Immediately, unbelievable things happened. Someone who is accused of having had "unanimous sex without condom" gets his servers, accounts, life turned off, loses his right TO free speech and mobility and is worldwide hunted as enemy N° 1 ?! Whole business giants, such as PayPal, myDNS or Amazon, play their powers openly to stop this ostensible betrayer. But what has he actually done? He spoke the truth, he just told everyone who's got eyes to read what was known for long time. He is the one shouting that the Kaiser was nude, he is the one, performing our collectiive "Biedermann und die Brandstifter" on a global stage - he takes away the illusion, the bubble, we are used to live in, that enables us to proceed every day (to go to work, for example)! 

Instead of asking us, everyone of us, and especially our governments, to change something in our behaviour, we all rather enjoy the hunt after this unbearable troublemaker. It is better and more comfortable to stick to your consciousness-calming collective hypocritical falsehood than questioning it. It is the sheer expression of dominance structures that apparently still determine our truth and reality. On a short-term view, it is the victory of laziness against truth. BUT: on a long run, this crusade in the name of transparency and enlightenment will be crowned with success - non-transparent, conspiratory political or economical action becomes less and lesser possible, consequentially expressed in the fear of loss of the most powerful tools in diplomacy, ie. secret negotiations.

We ARE indeed entering a new era of changed awareness - and responsibility. People claim their rights of being properly informed everywhere and anytime. They seek to become part of decision-making. Finally, the propagated goals of slavery-seeking capitalist economy ("maximisation of information..") turn against its proponents. We are at the beginning of a real revolution; Assange might be dead very, very soon, we should never forget him - but it is up to us to accept his inheritance. In this times of interconnected financial, social, political and environmental crises, there is one sphere of flourishing: information as a value celebrates its all time-peak right now! Let me conclude by suggesting a proper name for the era we are all globally experiencing: I would call it "Hypo-crisis", because it is an encompassing system based on and dealing with crisis, it is therefore our ultimate frame of reference for every action. Second, it characterises the constant status of alert, we are all exposed to in terms of global threads. Third, it refers to the French "hypocrisie" (Scheinheiligkeit), which is reflected in the English adjective "hypocrisy", which characterises the condition of a collective lie (while knowing about it deeply inside and struggling to cope with). These days we see the first stroke against our Trueman Show-like bubble world from within. It is eventually still up to you to decide whether you prefer to live in - or not. But please, do never ever complain about the world or your own situation within, if you refrain from accepting your responsibility.......... !
